A fascinating company contacted me and asked if they could send me some samples to review. It was The Cholive Company http://www.thecholive.com/about.html and you all know I will NEVER turn down free chocolate! Josh Quinn sent an e-mail saying their President is 28 years old and the company is going national for Valentine's Day! Wow - congrats to them!!!
Here is the Cholive, the company's signature treat:
And these are DELICIOUS!!! Here's what their website says about them:
Imagine biting into a surprisingly crisp shell of premium 55% dark chocolate filled with a silky Vermont whole cream ganache. Perfection. Originally created to be the perfect accompaniment to the chocolate martini, the Cholive has become so much more.
These only have 35 calories each and they ROCK! They are the perfect size to pop in your mouth. I liked to pop one in and let it melt - YUM!!!! These would be great if you have a party coming up or just want a delicious treat. (And if you drink chocolate martini's - you HAVE to have these!) I had the tin on my desk and couldn't stop eating them. Smooth, sweet - but not too sweet - really awesome. The thin shell with the creamy interior is totally addictive, even decadent. (Ask your Valentine to get you some! Or get some yourself so if your Valentine screws up, you'll still be happy!)
The company also makes Chruffles:
Love the gold and brown packaging! These come in 16 different flavors - I got to try caramel, raspberry, mint and cappuccino. The flavors are subtle - raspberry was very light. The mint tasted a lot like the Mint Thins the Girl Scouts make (which is a good thing in my book!). Caramel was my favorite of the four, but I like caramel.
I didn't think these were nearly as good as the Cholives. The truffle shell seemed too thick and hard. I prefer a thinner outer shell for truffles, a smoother chocolate. While the Cholives are extraordinary, these are only average. Not bad, mind you, but not extraordinary.
Love the Cholive - unique idea, great packaging and super chocolate. And I hope we'll see them everywhere with the company going national. Cupid says - Get some!!!
