Tea Term of the Month: “Brisk”

Generally refers to any tea with a liquor that is fresh and lively, as opposed to a tea that is stale or flat-tasting. Can also refer to a tea with relatively high astringency. This term was first made popular by Sir Thomas Lipton in the 1890’s while advertising his garden-direct Ceylon teas.
