Researchers at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York have discovered that Cabernet Sauvignon significantly reduced Alzheimer's Disease deterioration of spatial memory function of the happy mice who ingested the wine over a seven-month period.

Their conclusion as it relates to us:

"Moderate wine consumption, within the range recommended by the FDA dietary guidelines of one drink per day for women and two for men, may help reduce the relative risk for Alzheimer's Disease."

That's good news for the 24 million people worldwide who suffer from the disease. I find the range of wine's health benefits incredible. Of course, you have to look closely at who's conducting the study and how the results are interpreted, but I think there's reason to believe that for many of us, moderate consumption is good for our hearts, minds and souls.
